Harry Potter stories have an enthused group of fans in many countries

I am deeply fascinated by the big global vogue of the Harry Potter books. The Harry Potter novels were written by the English author J.K. Rowling. She saw the light of day on 31 July 1965. Her name is Joanne Rowling. But she writes under the short form J.K. Rowling because in the beginning her publishing company thought it was a helpful move to hide the matter that she is a woman. The publishing house feared it could have a negative effect on the sales figures if everybody instantly sees that the author was female. So, instead of showing her first name she used two initials. As she has no middle name she picked Kathleen as basis for the K. in her pseudonym. Kathleen is the name of her paternal grandmother.

The initial Harry Potter story – Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone – was published in 1997 in in Great Britain. Very mentionable is the aspect that only one thousand units of the first novel were printed at the beginning. The original title of the story was not Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, but Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. But when the book was published to the American market in the year 1998, it was renamed Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

After that Joanne Rowling invented several more Harry Potter stories. Now the Harry Potter series consists of a total of 7 stories. These are:

  • Story 1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
  • Story 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Story 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Story 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Story 5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Story 6: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Story 7: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The Harry Potter stories have been translated into more than sixty-five languages and have been published in a lot of countries. Besides the big success in the USA and Great Britain, Harry Potter is also very favored in Germany. The Harry Potter stories (German online store: Harry Potter Buecher Shop) have been released to the German public under those headers:

  • Buch 1: Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen
  • Buch 2: Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens
  • Buch 3: Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban
  • Buch 4: Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch
  • Buch 5: Harry Potter und der Orden des Phoenix
  • Buch 6: Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz
  • Buch 7: Harry Potter und die Heiligtuemer des Todes

I must admit that I did not have the opportunity to read all those stories. But there are fans who know them all, which is quite remarkable and makes up the huge success.
