It is important for the Indian matrimonial system to be able to create a strong and successful bond that lasts the couple a lifetime especially now that the number of divorces is increasing more and more each time. This can be possible with the values and traditions that they have. Having a stable marital life can be possible with some factors which you have to consider. The relationship must be built on a strong support system, common values, and shared dreams built on mutual understanding, open communication, and love.

To ensure marital stability, these are some factors which are highly needed because of their role in the relationship:

Similarities of Cultural Backgrounds:

It appears to be a general observation that people from a similar cultural background are believed to have a stronger marriage; even though the fact remains that most couples today may disagree at some point. There are different cultures that dwell in India since it is a secular country. No matter how the same you were from the place you have lived, schools you have gone to, movies you have watched, up to the music you have listened, this does not assure you of not being surprised of finding something new about a person once you are already living together in the same house.

Couples will have an easier transition and it will be easier for them to design and plan their lives and day-to-day routines together when they come in the same cultural group that has the same or similar beliefs. The child rearing also would be easier, since the disagreements can be fewer.

Economic Background Factor:

Couples who are financially well off would not mean that they will surely be having matrimonial relationship that is stable and successful. However, a good marriage consists of a family that belongs to similar financial backgrounds and those that follow similar philosophy and principle in financial matters. What matters is that the couples know and understand where they both stand as a couple and keep their expenses within limits.

The Support of the Family Members

There is stability of the marriage when enough and strong support system is received by the couple. During tough times in your marriage, it is important to receive support and right advices from the family members as well as those friends who are supportive of your relationship. The families in the western countries are a lot smaller and the relatives are all miles apart and friends are too busy to be there for each other, thus the result most commonly would be failed marriages.

While, on the other hand, most siblings and parents in an Indian setting are integral to major decisions that are taken by the couple. The parents of the married children act as good examples and always give unbiased advices to the couple.

When the matrimonial relationship strives hard to communicate with each other, understand each other’s needs, demands and requirements and even be the bigger person by accepting mistakes whenever possible, it can be successful up to eternity. Never take for granted your values and eventually do your bets to have a marriage that can last for eternity.
