My partner and I flew from Birmingham Airport in England to Nice Airport in the South of France in early June to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at a resort called Le Mas Candille about 10 km north of Cannes in a beautiful village called Mougin which has numerous artists shops/galleries and restaurants-a lovely old spot to only meander around.

We drove around the entrance gate of the hotel in the heat of the afternoon in a hired Peugeot 206 Cabriolette to be met by the gate attendant who let’s right through to decrease the tree lined long garage arriving at the front of the hotel where we were greeted outside by two members of staff who took our baggage and parked our car. After a speedy check in we were proven to our bedroom in the first part of the building that was exquisitely furnished with a lavish bathroom. The resort has its own spa which offers most of the usual treatments-my wife said that the massage was the most effective she had ever received.
There are numerous quality restaurants at some of Cannes luxury accommodations but the major restaurant at Le Mas Candille is a michelin starred restaurant of the highest standard-service is remarkable and the meals a joy. A morning to be appreciated dinner on our wedding anniversary was. There is a more casual restaurant by among the private pools which again is superb-we often ate breakfast here beneath the morning sun.
