“LAMP Server” is a term used to identify a base web server. LAMP is an acronym used to describe the best possible combination of free open source software used for running websites. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP. The term, LAMP server, was first used by Michael Kunze back in the late 90s while writing an article for a German magazine. The privary reason for its popularity is its ease of usage in managing the information. It offers a solid and reliable database management solutions for numerous data driven website.

PHP/Perl: two programming languages that are used in site development. It is up to the web developer, which programming language to be used for developing websites. PHP is an acronym for hypertext preprocessor and is used in creating dynamic webpages.
