I never had any desire to go to Florida. It just simply never attracted me in any way. It seemed to be a place that in my mind catered to the more mature population and that translated to a not enjoyable or exciting time. So when my partner announced he wanted to go to Florida for about three weeks I personally wasn’t really jumping over the moon to visit, but I thought I would make the best of it and have a good time. I was in for a massive surprise.
Visiting Florida is amazing; specifically Key West vacations are awesome. Key West was not what I envisioned it to be whatsoever. The Key West rental we stayed in was so cool and the individuals that worked there were amazingly awesome and very helpful. They steered us to some great places to eat and even better bars. Speaking of pubs, we went out and experienced the Duval crawl. In case you don’t understand what that is don’t worry I didn’t either, but if you think about it, it is rather self-explanatory. Duval Street is where the best pubs in Key West are found and the crawl part is because if you go to all of them you’re going to be crawling back to your vacation rental. We had an awesome time.
You will find live music in just about every single pub, and not the live music that’s only good when you’ve had a couple cocktails, the groups playing were actually quite excellent. The people you meet in my opinion are the best element. Every person was extremely friendly and sociable. I never once felt awkward or like My partner and i didn’t belong. I’m only twenty seven and I was chatting to people twice my age and older and I really enjoyed every second of it. We visited a incredibly excellent pub that has been a staple of Key West for ages named Sloppy Joes, and I would probably say it is among the best bars That i have ever visited.
The worst part about the whole Duval crawl experience is probably the morning after, but it is so worth it. I had a fairly easy time recovering. Our Key West vacation accomodation had a pool so I just made myself a mimosa and sat by the pool right until it was time to do it all over again.
People who go to Key West want to have a good time and let their hair down. I’d definitely say don’t visit if you would like simply have solace and read a magazine, which you can do, however you will be totally wasting the experience. There are a lot of Key West lodgings to choose from so get on the web and begin planning your holiday.
