In recent years, science-fiction films have made a huge comeback in Hollywood and I, for one, consider a great thing.

When I visit the movies I want to be surprised. I like to find out things that I have never seen before and I like to be faced with realities that I did not even think possible. That is why science fiction movies are my cup of tea.

They typically include an extensive range of subjects and subjects, including many which are uniquely their own. Today’s development in science-fiction puts a on special effects, reinforced by today’s cutting-edge technology that may make even the most unusual moments seem practical, such as for instance alien life forms, spectacular battles in space, time travel or visiting other worlds at the speed of light.

Usually, science fiction films are purely speculative in nature and are peppered with recurring themes involving science and technology. Other predominant themes in sci-fi movies are mysticism, magic, the occult and the supernatural, which are also important elements of imagination or occult/religious movies. In fact, quite a number of films blur the line between these variety, such as for instance Chronicles of Riddick, Forbidden Planet, and the Star Wars series.

It’s difficult to determine just what makes a science fiction film since the style does not have any generally accepted definition. The truth is, science-fiction may vary from viewer to viewer in that what is sci-fi to me may be fantasy o-r fear for you.

If you have been a lover of Hollywood, then you know that science-fiction has come a long way. There is a period when special effects meant getting a model spacecraft by the end of the string and waving it before a or having someone liven up as an orangutan and terrorizing a whole area. Certainly, the specific effects in science fiction films have developed from the totally laughable to today’s breath-taking and awe-inspiring solutions that seem truly reasonable. Several of the great landmarks in this respect are marked by films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Star Wars films, Star Trek: The Film and The Matrix.

Obviously, science-fiction films just seem to be getting better by the season, as evidenced by such recent hits as “Lord of the “I, Rings”, Robot” and “Superman Returns.”
