New Name Labels for Mums of Today
In 2003 a new kind of name label was developed and launched which does not need to be sewn or ironed, it simply sticks onto the wash care label in clothes and survives washing and drying. Called Stikins®, these name labels are now used by thousands of UK mums in millions of garments.
Labelling your child’s clothes, shoes and possessions is all part of helping them to start school or nursery. They will almost certainly lose something, and the name label helps staff and other mums to return things, most probably by swapping things back!
Names used to be embroidered by hand onto clothes and the most attractive name labels today are still embroidered, but by machines and then they need to be sewn into clothes. Many mums do not have the time to sew labels into clothes and either try and write the name on the garment label or use iron-on name labels.
Stikins® labels provide an easy alternative and are now supplied as two types: The original Stikins labels have “H” shaped labels that stick onto washcare labels, the bars of the “H” wrap around to help the name label stay on, Shoe and micro labels are also supplied in the same material as a label set. In May 2010 New Stikins were launched. These super sticky, super thin Vinyl labels can be used on washcare labels , but also on all other kinds of school items.
Label Planet in Cheshire is the company that supplies these labels, and its web site is www.name-labels.com.
