Ok, I ma going to blow your mind with this statement so prepare yourself: Cardio at best is only one third resposible for losing fat and gaining shape and tone in your workout. Pretty shocking right? But brace yourself again becouse your really not going to like this next part: doing nothing but cardio will actually make you retain fat and cause you to lose tone and shape!
Heres the long and short of it, doing too much cardio wil cause your body to retain fat in the long run because you send the message that your body needs to hang on tostored energy-aka fat-to be able to keep up with all the damn cardio. Worse yet becasue your body cant supply all the energy your crazy amount of cardio is demanding you will actually start to break down muscle for energy. And we all know what that means-less muscle means less tone and shape, less muscle also means less metabalism which translates into more fat!
