What people eat can affect their health and wellbeing but you would be surprised at how many people fail to consider this. People who eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, together with some protein and a small amount of carbohydrates will have more energy than people who mainly eat kebabs, takeaway meals and chips. Of course it’s perfectly fine to have a Chinese takeaway from time to time, but the problem is when the fridge is empty and there are just a stack of fast food menus on the kitchen work surface.

 

No matter what time of year it is, you should be able to get your hands on some delicious vegetables from your local supermarket and you can use these to make a tasty stir-fry in no time. And if you like to have protein with your meals, then you could also consider adding some chicken breast sliced very thin as this will cook really quickly. Another meal which is very tasty and which can be cooked very quickly is an omelette; you can add tomatoes, peppers ham and cheese to it to make it really delicious.

 

A combination of fruits chopped into roughly equal sizes can make a wonderful fruit salad. Soaking the fruit in Grand Marnier or Cointreau for a few hours or even overnight will make a really special treat. If you want the fruit salad to be extra special then fruits with different textures is a good idea. Adding homemade Greek yoghurt will make it even more tasty and will not add too many calories.

 

Starting your day with a fruit salad on summer mornings is fantastic. It can be prepared in advance and kept in an airtight container. Even when you feel like a takeaway is your only option because you have arrived home late from work, you would find it quicker and healthier to have an omelette followed by a tasty fruit salad.

 

When you eat properly, you are also going to have better skin. And obviously that is a good reason to eat healthy.
