Barcelona. The Current American City. Cool Tips from the Travel Juinkie.
So far, I already visited the city of Barcelona on 2 occasion (both were a week stays), and I still think that there are many attractions which are yet to be explored. I’ll definitely review soon, since I just fell in love with the area. If you are likely to visit Barcelona (or contemplating it) here are some great ideas from the vacation fan.
Highlights:
Browsing the old part (Barri Gothic Area) of the city is really a must-see, yet I think, the best areas of Barcelona are its contributions to 20th Century architecture.
One should certainly visit all monuments left by famous 20th-century architect Antonio Gaudi; Parc Guell, Casa Miro, Casa Batlo, and the majority of all, the famous, unfinished Sagrada Famiglia Cathedral.
Other particular monuments to be seen are the Palau de la Musica, The Maritime Museum, Picasso Museum, The Complex, and for the best nightlife of, the Olympic Village.
Excursion Suggestions:
Where one sees the mysterious theme park of Port Aventura, I would typically suggest a visit to Salou. We spent 2 days in the hotel which adjoins the-park, and booked this directly via the Net. When I tried scheduling via my representative it had been likely to cost 15% more to me. Thus, basically book this yourself since its quite simple to take action.
Coming to the location, is quite simple since the theme park and the location has a place located only 100m from it. Although, Port Aventura may not be as big as DisneyLand Paris in size, I personally feel that it’s a certain environment of adventure which the Parisian park lacks.
Other day trips worthwhile considering really are a visit to the wonderful Montserrat Mountains, along with a visit to beautiful seaside resort of Stiges. You may acquire very advantageous tour packages which include transport, museum gates, and lunch at the Tourist Information Office.
Receiving Literature
Besides purchasing a good guide book (DK features a very colorful and informative guide), I would claim that you would contact them requesting some literature, and log onto the Barcelona Tourist Information office internet site. For a very small fee (probably significantly less than 3 Euros), they’ll send you very useful maps and guides which will certainly help you in planning your trip.
