Unfortunately, a personal business now runs the park. This, needless to say, means you’ve to cover to enter and the place features a particular touristy feel with kayaks and other water toys for rent. Still, the park is very large and your experience shouldnt be extremely affected.

The northern tip of the area must be your destination, if youre trying to find more of a beach town experience. Playa Norte provides great beaches, restaurants, hotels and pretty much all you can need. Head out on Zacil Ha road and some fairly isolated beaches can be found by you.

If complete isolation is the thing, there are many of remote beach parts on the island. Humanity is south from Playa Pescador and youll left by walk behind. Exactly the same is true if you head north from Playa Lancheros. Only get a map of the island or ask a local for directions.

Getting There

Isla Mujeres posseses an airport, but traveling by boat from Cancun is cheaper. There are numerous public ferries traveling to the area. Getting right back and forth is no problem. Just be sure you check always the schedule for reunite visits.
