My Memorable Trip to Europe

One of the rights of passage for young college students is to backpack through Europe. Last year, I made the trip. After all my travel arrangements were made by Travelocity, I headed off to listen some of the best music and soak up the culture in Europe.

Budapest, Hungary
The Sziget Festival in August! What an amazing event. We were on the island of Obudai off the River Danube in Hungary. The island was a city of tents for the Festival. The stages were plentiful and the music was amazing. Iron Maiden was the first to play and they were followed by 5 more musical days with bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers and 3 Inches of Blood. All in all, a great show for heavy metal fans! Kildare, Ireland
If you are going to be in the vicinity of Ireland, the Oxegen Festival held there is not something you won’t want to miss. Famous name headliners for all rock fans will be playing and there is camping on or near the site. I personally haven’t been to this festival, but a friend of mine highly recommends it. There were lots of friendly people and great music.

On the Mediterranean
A beach and camping adventure awaits you when you attend the Benicassim Festival in Spain each year. It is a 4 day festival that attacts the crowds with some really great music and a fantastic environment. The energy is like nothing you have experienced. It is a must see event if you are a music lover.
