Who said you should not air your laundry?

These days there is no time to waste. Things need to be all done at once and in record time. Weeks are planned well in advance with meetings to attend, jobs demanding round the clock attendance and children to be dropped off and picked up. It is no wonder that we all turn to the “mod cons” for that extra helping hand. But have we taken this too far? Have we lost sight of the impact we are making? Have we somehow lost that great Australian trait of taking a “common sense” approach?

Unfortunately, it seems we have. These days, households are using far more electricity than ever before. Houses are built larger, whilst families are getting smaller yet power consumption seems to be exponentially increasing. All the while we are screaming for Governments to be environmentally friendly and to take responsibility. What society needs is a reality check… to really understand where a difference can be made. And often, it starts at home.

Gunns Clotheslines is on a mission to reignite a little common sense and to encourage households to rethink the way they dry laundry. Too often, time is of the essence and clothes must be dried come rain, hail or shine. Sadly, it is the electric tumble dryer that is deployed to carry on the task for guaranteed drying. As one of the most energy hungry appliances in the home, the tumble dryer produces an extraordinary amount of CO2 which is an unnecessary contributor to Global warming. That is why Gunns Clotheslines has invented a simple environmentally friendly solution to now make drying in all weather conditions possible, with an attempt to bring a little common sense back into the home.

Gunns Clothesline Australia recently launched the World’s first clothesline and cover in one. Proudly invented and designed in Australia, the ‘All Weather Covered Clothesline’ is a logical market initiative because it simply makes sense to dry undercover. It is designed to provide protection from damaging UV rays and soaking rain.

The All Weather Covered Clotheslines is non-obtrusive, compact and attaches flush against a support wall or onto freestanding poles. The protective cover is a simple every day solution that means hanging washing out once, and only once! – giving householders the freedom to continue their day as planned.

But wait… there is more! Not only does the All Weather Covered Clothesline mean guaranteed drying in all weather conditions and reduced carbon footprint, it also helps households make significant annual savings on electricity bills. It is quite extraordinary the savings made by avoiding the tumble dryer. Yes, it is true there are energy efficient ratings on dryers to make us feel better about our decision, but it does not negate the fact that they still use unnecessary power – there really is a better way of doing things.
